Biology
From the Ancient Greek βίος (bíos, “bio-, life”) + -λογία (-logía, “-logy, branch of study, to speak”).
Biology is the science that looks at all things living; it is the earth and life science. A scientist working in this field is referred to as a Biologist.

In the 16th century the microscope was invented which led to great advancements in biology and created new sciences such as microbiology (the study of microscopic forms of life).
